Company culture
Central to the company culture are our vision, 'We go further to make dreams come true', and the PROUD values. The PROUD values provide all employees across the Group with clear and consistent direction on what is expected of them and how we can support each other.
These values were first established in Thomas Cook UK in 2003, but in 2007 we decided to roll them out to the whole Group. Our businesses have had the flexibility to adapt the values according to their local languages and cultures, but they remain true to the spirit of the original PROUD values
They are:
ioneering our Future
We inspire energy and enthusiasm. We seek constantly to be creative and innovative and challenge constructively the status quo. We thrive in an ever-changing and dynamic world.
esults Orientated
We take responsibility for achieving results. We are reliable and always deliver what we promise. We are committed and determined to challenge and overcome barriers and solve problems. We always work to improve our own and others' performance and capabilities.
bsessed with Customer Service
We deliver the best-possible experience for our customers at all times. We listen and respond to their personal needs.
nited as One Team
We support and respect each other and work openly and collaboratively with our colleagues as a single, worldwide team. We trust each other and always demonstrate integrity and honesty.

Employees receiving their Proud award from Ian Derbyshire, CEO UK
Individual Thomas Cook businesses have identified effective ways to promote the values among their staff. For example, Thomas Cook UK holds quarterly celebrations to acknowledge those employees who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to one of the values. At the UK annual conference, overall winners are also announced and given a further gift. Thomas Cook India also presents awards to employees showing commitment to the values and, in 2010, published a book containing success stories and profiles of the award winners. A copy of the book was then given to all employees, to further raise awareness and inspire commitment to the values.
Initiatives like this help us create a great company culture. Along with our standing as a quality brand, this culture contributes to our reputation as one of the best employers in tourism.
